Portreath Parish Council is aware of the increasing issues of anti-social behaviour in the parish and is committed to supporting a safe and respectful community for all. In response to these concerns, we have taken a proactive first step by committing funds to a series of community outreach sessions in partnership with 4Youth South West.
These sessions will provide trained youth workers the opportunity to engage directly with young people in the area, address and correct poor behaviour, and gather valuable feedback on what activities and support they would like to see in the parish.
We are pleased to confirm that Devon and Cornwall Police will be increasing their patrols in the village, helping to provide additional reassurance and a visible presence to hopefully deter anti-social behaviour.
We recognise that this is just the beginning. To make a lasting impact, we are reaching out to neighbouring town and parish councils, as well as Cornwall Councillors, to ask for their support. We are also actively exploring funding opportunities to ensure these sessions can continue and grow in the coming months.
