The new Cornwall Local Plan will guide development across Cornwall from 2030 to 2050. It will determine what can be built, where development takes place, and how our communities will look and function in the future.
The Plan will cover a wide range of issues, including:
- Housing
- Employment and business space
- Town and village centres
- Energy generation
- Schools
- Health and community facilities
- Transport and connectivity
- Green infrastructure, including parks, wildlife areas and woodlands
It will also address important challenges such as climate change, an ageing population, nature recovery, and improving opportunities for people to live and work in Cornwall.
As part of the process, Cornwall Council has invited town and parish councils to prepare a Neighbourhood Priority Statement. This document will set out the priorities and aspirations of local residents and help inform the new Cornwall Local Plan.
To achieve this, Portreath Parish Council is seeking a group of volunteers to work alongside councillors in consulting with residents and helping to draft the Statement.
This is an opportunity to have a real influence on the future of our parish and ensure that local views are represented as decisions are made for the next generation.
We need your help. Without community involvement, we cannot move this important work forward. The Government's timetable is tight, so if you are interested in joining the group or would like more information, please contact the Clerk at clerk@portreath-pc.gov.uk, complete a volunteer form or speak to any Parish Councillor as soon as possible.
Thank you for supporting your community.
